PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Old City District in Philadelphia is asking for public input as they look to make improvements to their neighborhood.
2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Job Itzkowitz with the Old City District says they want to use the decade leading up to the anniversary as an opportunity to improve their economic and physical growth.
“We thought it would be an appropriate time in Old City to reflect and help navigate what type of development they would like to see in the neighborhood,” said Itzkowitz.
Itzkowitz says they are holding public meetings and have an internet survey in an effort to get public feedback.
“This is an opportunity for the community to come together, provide input, make suggestions about how they’d like to see our vacant lots developed, how they’d like to see some of our vacant properties transformed and how to better engage with the public realm.”
