A Stormy Start To The Week

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A stormy start to the week is in store for the Delaware Valley.

It is indeed a dreary start to the day for most folks. Storms rumbled through the region Sunday night into Monday morning, bringing high winds heavy downpours and lightning. A few showers are still lingering this morning, but most of the greater Philadelphia area is currently in a lull. It will be mainly cloudy through midday, when we expect to see skies brighten a bit. It will again be a hot and humid, and any sunshine will only add to the chances of afternoon thunderstorms popping up, which they will. While the storms will be scattered and the chances of severity are low, the threat will still exist. If you have afternoon outdoor plans, use caution and keep an eye to the sky.

Tuesday will be similar with more afternoon storms, with the heat and humidity breaking by Wednesday.
