Tall Ships 2015: A.J. Meerwald
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The schooner A.J. Meerwald is a familiar sight on the Delaware Bay and river. She represents the schooners that lead the New Jersey fishing industry to its heights.
John Brady, President of the Independence Seaport Museum notes Meerwald's strength was oystering under sail.
"The Meerwald's rig is especially suited to that. She has the power to pull a dredge across the bottom."
She will be taking visitors for a Delaware River sail during the festival.
The Tall Ships Festival will take place on the Delaware River between Philadelphia and Camden from June 25-28.
