Tall Ships 2015: El Galeon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- El Galeon evokes images of Spanish gold and marauding 16th century pirates of the Caribbean.
John Brady, President of the Independence Seaport Museum imagines where these stately galleons were seen.
"She's a ship that would have sailed the Spanish Main," Brady explained.
El Galeon is a faithful reproduction of the galleons with their tall stern castles that collected Latin American gold for the dash back to Spanish ports through pirate infested waters.
The Tall Ships Festival will take place on the Delaware River between Philadelphia and Camden from June 25-28.
