Most Women Routinely Visit A Doctor For Annual Checkups, But What About Men?

By Lynne Adkins

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Most women visit a doctor annually for routine medical screenings such as mammograms, but what about men?

Men over 50 should see a physician to get recommended screenings, according to Dr. Bernard King, a family physician at Riddle Hospital in Media. But those suggestions vary from man-to-man.

"Blood pressure evaluation, BMI and then a review of any medical histories that are going on and the compliance with any medication, and then certainly beyond that would be things like colonoscopy, prostate health, diet exercise, safety."

You and your doctor can determine how often you should visit, but he suggests it's never too late to begin those preventative health screenings and get a handle on how well you are aging.
