Man Sentenced For Role In Atlantic City Gang's Drug Ring

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Another person has been sentenced for playing a role in a heroin ring run by a street gang that used threats, intimidation and violence to maintain control of Atlantic City's illegal drug trade.

Federal prosecutors say 29-year-old city resident Ronald Davis, also known as "Black," received a 54-month sentence Friday. He also will have to serve to six years of supervised release.

Davis pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to distribute and possess heroin with the intent to distribute.

Davis admitted engaging in a conspiracy with several members of the gang known as "Dirty Block," which prosecutors say controlled heroin sales through gun violence, including at least one homicide.

Authorities say Davis was a dealer, helping the gang distribute heroin in and around several public housing complexes in Atlantic City.
