Walking The Walk In Montco In The Fight Against Lymphoma

By Tim Jimenez

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - Hundreds are expected for a 5k in Montgomery County this weekend to raise money for the fight against the most common blood cancer, and one Lymphoma survivor is looking to make a difference.

Lynn Seuberling was only 37 years old when she got the diagnosis.

"Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma in September 2013," she says.

Sixteen rounds of chemo later, remission began March of last year.

And so Seuberling's is helping with Saturday morning's 8th annual Philadelphia Lymphomathon at Norristown Farm Park. It's a 5K walk that has raised nearly $400,000 over the years for the Lymphoma Research Foundation --an organization Seuberling says helped her find others across the country who could really understand what she was going through:

"They're in their 30s, they're married, they have kids and here's their email address. And I just kind of pen pal'd with a couple of women who were going through the same things as me."

Those interested can sign up to walk at the park in the morning. Sebuerling says it's a great way to pay it forward:

"Sometimes there are people that are walking that are currently going through chemo or radiation right now and it's really nice to be able to talk to them and know there is hope."
