Selling your home this year? We know the process can seem a little daunting. To get your home buyer-ready, it is important to spruce up and clean out. Here are some tips to get you started:

  1. Get rid of personal items

Homebuyers want to see themselves in a new space. Make sure to pack up family photos and personal items before showings.

  1. Clean it up, clear it out

Plan ahead. Use this time to donate or throw away items you haven't used in awhile.

  1. Refresh with paint

It's amazing what a new coat of paint can do. Give your home a refreshed look with paint. Try a neutral color that goes with anything. This way, buyers will see paint as one less thing to change when they move in.

  1. Make it shine

Give your home a good cleaning from the inside out. Use a power washer to deep clean your home's exterior and walkways. Clean out dust and cobwebs, bleach grout, wax floors and polish hardware.

  1. Tune up windows and doors

Check your windows and doors for signs of damage or deterioration, and make necessary repairs or replacements before your first showing. Keep an eye out for signs like cracked or broken panes, chipping paint and loose or torn weather stripping that will tell you it's time to replace.

  1. Create curb appeal

Welcome potential buyers into your home by planting pretty flowers, refreshing chipped or worn paint on your entry door and trim, and replacing old, dull hardware.

Your house is beautiful — let visitors see it at its best. Its amazing what a little cleaning, fresh accents and elbow grease can do.
