Police: No Steven Tyler Concert At Mercer County Farm

By David Spunt

WEST WINDSOR, N.J., (CBS) -- Police are looking for the person or persons behind several web postings advertising a Steven Tyler concert at a strawberry farm in West Windsor, New Jersey.

"We're getting ready to pick for strawberry season, and we opened yesterday," said Wayne Kalinowski, owner of Windsor Farm.

Wayne Kalinowski has owned the place for almost 25 years and said when he heard from a woman Steven Tyler was coming to his farm this Saturday, he laughed then shook his head.

"I know who Steven Tyler is. I don't think he's going to come to Windsor Farm for a concert. I doubt that. I said where did you hear that. She said it's on the internet," said Kalinowski.

Several posts online, including one on Reverbnation, mentioned a concert featuring the Aerosmith lead singer this Saturday.

"Where would I set him up? I said probably way down over there because it's a quarter mile to the woods," said Kalinowski.

But West Windsor Police quickly out a statement making sure fans don't "walk this way" and end up "a cryin."

The postings are gone, but police will still be here on Saturday in case any fans do show up.

"I've never been through anything like this before. I'd love to see him come here but I know it's not going to happen," said Joe Servis of Windsor Farm.

The hoax comes on the heels of a Sheryl Crow fake ticket scam just a few weeks ago. Forty-two-year-old Kelly Bryan was arrested and charged for selling fake tickets. Police don't know if actual fake tickets were sold in the Steven Tyler case.

"I keep a log book of everything that's happened for the past 24 years and this will be the top of the list," said Kalinowski.

CBS 3 Eyewitness News reached out to Reverbnation and Steven Tyler's publicist for official comments.

"Steven Tyler was never booked to perform at Windsor Farm. We have been cooperating with the authorities to make sure no one has been misled," said Amanda Ruisi, Tyler's publicist.
