Flyers To Hold Auditions For Ice Girls

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- During a preseason Flyers game last October, fans booed as the Flyers crew cleaned off the ice in between periods. Why was the crew being booed?

It marked the end of the Flyers Ice Girls. The fan response led to a direct reaction from the team. They brought the Ice Girls back in time for the regular season.

The fans spoke and they got what they wanted.

The Flyers have now announced upcoming auditions for the 2015-16 Ice Girls, a day that would not have come if it wasn't for some unhappy fans.

Auditions for the Flyers Ice Girls will take place on Tuesday, June 23 at the Virtua Center Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ. The Flyers add that they are seeking energetic, outgoing personalities coupled with a love for hockey.

The Ice Girls are clearly a valued entity, at least for Flyers fans, so it is good to see the group continuing.

You can visit the Flyers' website for more information on how to audition for the Ice Girls and to pre-register.
