Jogger's Husband Set To Plead In Park Strangulation Death
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia man is set to admit he followed his wife on her evening run and strangled her as they argued over his texts to another woman.
Prosecutors say Christopher Murray has agreed to plead guilty Tuesday to third-degree murder and serve a 20- to 40-year sentence.
Authorities say the body of 46-year-old Connie Murray was found the next morning in a park near their home. She is survived by two school-age daughters.
Public defender Roger Schrading confirms that a guilty plea is expected in the slaying last summer but otherwise isn't commenting.
Officials say Murray told police last year that he "snapped" when the argument turned physical.
The 49-year-old is expected to be sentenced immediately after his plea. He has been in custody since his arrest in August.
