Woman Sexually Assaulted, Robbed In South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)— Police say a woman was sexually assaulted and robbed inside her own home in South Philadelphia.

On Monday around 5:30 a.m., the 35-year-old female victim was asleep on the 1800 block of South Rosewood Street when she woke up to an unknown male standing over her bed.

The suspect then reportedly placed his hand over her mouth and demanded money while sexually assaulting her.

The suspect took $10 as well as car and house keys from the victim's purse.

Before leaving the home, the suspect also reportedly took the victim's roommate's ID card and told the woman not to call police.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s. He's about 5'8" or 5'9" with a medium build and was wearing a mask, wool hat, black pants, a black long-sleeved zip up jacket or sweatshirt and red gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
