Donovan McNabb Calls Out His Alma Mater For Unretirement Decision
By Ray Boyd
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Donovan McNabb is one of the best players to ever wear an Eagles uniform and also holds that standing for Syracuse Football. McNabb's No. 5 is not only retired for the Eagles, but for Syracuse as well.
Despite his strong connection to the school, McNabb took to Twitter to call out the university for their decision to unretire one of their most iconic numbers, 44.
The school made the decision to unretire the number which was worn by Syracuse greats including Jim Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little. The number was said to never be worn again for Syracuse back in 2005.
McNabb believes the decision to unretire the number was disrespectful to the great players who wore it.
