PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Anti-aging treatments have grown in popularity as baby boomers begin to age and it seems like there is no stopping the momentum.
One of the most widely used procedures is dermabrasion.
Dermabrasion is used to treat age spots, wrinkles and other issues caused by years of sun damage. In the procedure a special rotating brush is used to remove the outer layer of skin from small areas of the face. The goal is to have new smoother skin grow in its place.
Be prepared for some initial issues. The new skin will look red or pink for several weeks and there can also be scabbing and swelling. So if you are considering dermabrasion, realize it might take a couple of months to see the real results.
