Weather: Warm Weekend For Mom

By Steven Strouss

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you are a fan of warm weather you are going to enjoy this weekend. Despite morning fog, temperatures the next several days will climb into the mid 80s (about 10 degrees above average).  The fog, caused by a moist southeast flow, will be most dense along the coast and will gradually burn off after sunrise. Weather for the Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday will be nice with partial sunshine and a high of 82. Sunday looks good too for the Komen Race for the Cure event. Temperatures on Sunday will be warmer with a high of 86 degrees (normal high for late June!).

Meanwhile, subtropical storm Ana continues to spin off the Southeast coast of the Carolinas with winds of 45 mph. The Atlantic hurricane season officially begins June 1, but Ana arrived early and will drift west the next few days bringing heavy rainfall and gusty winds to parts of South and North Carolina. Our area will receive some needed rain from the remnants of this storm early next week as it gets wrapped up with a cold front which will also knock down our temperatures. Monday and Tuesday will be the best chance for showers and thunderstorms but Wednesday through Friday of next week look stellar with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s.

At the shore this weekend we expect morning fog then partial sunshine in the afternoon with a high near 70 on Saturday and 74 on Sunday.

Enjoy your weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
