Man Killed By Dump Truck In Freak Accident In Bucks County

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON, Pa. (CBS) -- Police say a man whose car broke down in Bucks County was fatally struck by a dump truck after he got out to look under his hood.

The tragedy happened shortly before 11 a.m. Friday near the corner of Street Road and Gravel Hill Road in Upper Southampton.

According to the Upper Southampton Township Police Department, 58-year-old Zinovi Palvo's car broke down along the road.

Police say Palvo got out of his car and lifted the hood up to further investigate the mechanical issue.

According to investigators, Palvo stepped out and was struck by a passing dump truck.

Palvo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver is being cooperative.

The deadly incident remains under investigation.
