Anonymous App Allows Women To Research Guys Before Dating Them

By KYW social media editor Melony Roy

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Lulu is the private network for women to share reviews of the men in their phone's contact list. It isn't a new app, but is growing in popularity with women...and now some men.

VP of Marketing, Deborah Singer, describes Lulu as an app for dating intelligence:

"Lulu is a way for girls to research guys before they go on a date with them and find out what other girls have said."

It was created to help women who date online or outside of their network of friends. It searches their phone's contact database for the men and only women have rights to do the rating.

"When girls log onto Lulu they get a dashboard of guys that they know, that they can browse though and they can see their average score, and if they click on their profile they can see how that score breaks down," explains Singer.

There are seven different categories including ambition, commitment and humor. Women can add hashtags ranging from the good like #respectswomen to the bad like #rudetowaiters.

"When guys log into Lulu they get what we call 'personalized analytics' about themselves and then they can add info to their profiles to promote themselves to women and get discovered by more women on Lulu," says Singer.

Any guy can remove themselves from Lulu, but Singer says more than one million guys have downloaded the app to see how they're rated.

The app is free and available on apple and android devices.
