Montco Chain Offers Customers 'Jersey Insurance' If NFL Player is Cut or Traded

POTTSTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Eagles fans these days may be hesitant to buy jerseys of their favorite player, for fear that Chip Kelly may cut or trade him.
Now, enter one local sporting goods chain with a solution!
If you're thinking twice about buying an Eagles' Tim Tebow jersey, the suburban chain Schuylkill Valley Sports may have the answer: jersey insurance.
For an extra $10 over the cost of their replica NFL jerseys, you can buy a new jersey at half off if your player gets traded or released within 18 months of purchase.
"Obviously, with the tumultuous offseason and the way things are going, there's a lot of constant changes and tweaks to the roster. And it's something we've been hearing from customers -- there was a hesitation to purchase new jerseys because of all the changes that were happening," notes Phil Baumgardner, the company's marketing director.
The offer is only valid for NFL jerseys. No MLB, NHL, or NBA right now, he says. But if you want to buy that Evan Mathis Eagles' jersey, for ten dollars more, you can buy some protection.
