Family Killed In Car Chase Remembered In Mural

By Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A mural was dedicated Saturday to a mother and her three children who were struck and killed by a carjacking suspect last summer.

The green space at the corner of Allegheny and Germantown Avenues will serve as a community gathering place, and also a place to remember Keisha Williams and her kids Keiearra, Joseph and Terrance.

Surrounding the lot is a fence with the faces of those who died there. Cassandra Alexander, Keisha's cousin, said "It's definitely a beautiful thing, but it's very emotional as well."

Alexander said that she was grateful for the community support.

"Blessed and grateful that the community came together, and even to this day they're still giving us strength and giving us love and support and that's what we need."

Deputy mayor Everett Gillison says the mural is just a down payment and that there are bigger plans for this lot in the future.
