Police: 2 Charged With Prostitution Near Crowded Little League Field In South Jersey

OAKLYN, N.J., (CBS) -- Oaklyn Police say two people have been charged with prostitution and other offenses following an alleged incident near a crowded Little League field in South Jersey.

At about 6:42 p.m. Tuesday, police say two off-duty officers coaching Little League behind the Oaklyn Public School observed a male and female allegedly engaged in suspicious behavior in the area of Lions Park.

Police say with the park and Little League fields crowded with children and games, one officer approached the couple as the other contacted on-duty officers to respond.

The male allegedly fled in a vehicle leaving the female behind, according to police.

Authorities say the female, identified as 24-year-old Dayna L. Silverman, of Oaklyn, was arrested at the scene.

Police say she was charged with Prostitution, Lewdness, Disorderly Conduct and Trespassing. Bail was set at $5,000 and she was remanded to Camden County Jail awaiting a Municipal Court date, according to authorities.

Police say further investigation identified the male as 56-year-old Charles E. Reynolds of Mantua, New Jersey.

He voluntarily turned himself in and cooperated with detectives, according to police.

Police say Reynolds was subsequently charged with Prostitution, Lewdness, Disorderly Conduct and Trespassing. He was released on his own recognizance with a municipal court date.
