Jay Lloyd's Getaway: Weddings Afloat

By Jay Lloyd

ROCK HALL, Md. (CBS) -- It's that time of year when young people's hearts turn to thoughts of love.  And, possibly, marriage.

If you're thinking of tying the knot and are looking for a memorable, small-scale ceremony, how about a nautical nuptials?

Starting a new life together is like beginning a voyage.  So, cast off the mooring lines and head for deeper water aboard a charter boat under sail with a captain who can perform your marriage ceremony.

Capt. Mark Einstein takes voyagers on colorful Chesapeake Bay cruises.  And if they want to wed, he can do that, too.

He specializes in finding that perfect, romantic location, in or near Rock Hall, Md., to hold the ceremony:  "A nice quiet cove with a nice, warm breeze blowing across the boat."

Then, after the ceremony, the couple gets a beautiful sunset sail and, for shoreside weddings, a roaring cannon salute to mark their course to the future.

You can find my sailing buddy, Captain Mark, at bluecrabcharters.com.
