Twitterverse Lights Up With Reaction to Tim Tebow News

By social media editor Melony Roy

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- "Tebow mania" is once again all over social media, after news that the quarterback is headed to Philadelphia.

The name Tim Tebow has been trending on both Facebook and Twitter.  But if you had to sum up the social media universe's reaction to the signing, It's probably, "Huh?"

There were lots of "Didn't see that coming," and some people were wondering if Tebow will actually play in a game.

Also popular were Biblical references, such as "born again," and quips that Chip Kelly is signing him to "heal" other players.

Some users noted that since the pope is coming to Philadelphia in September, why not Tebow?

Meanwhile, some Tebow fans are just happy to see him play again.

"#TimTebow is the definition of never giving up on your dreams. I hope he does well," tweeted @gaines_josh.

And some Philadelphia Eagles fans are showing their support for head coach Chip Kelly by using the hashtag #InChipWeTrust.

Tebow himself has yet to weigh in; his last Twitter post as of Monday morning was a Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32:

"Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you."
