Pedestrian Dies After Hit By Box Truck While Crossing Street

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Police and Essex County authorities say a man may have fallen in front of a box truck as he was trying to cross a Newark street.

Authorities say the 41-hear-old man was hit by the truck on Broadway about 2 p.m. Saturday and died at the scene. His name was not released pending notification of his family.

The truck driver was taken to a hospital for observation.
