DelVal's Rasheed Bailey Creating Draft Buzz

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Delaware Valley University senior wide receiver Rasheed Bailey had a season for the ages in 2014 for the Division III Aggies.

The Roxborough High School product caught 80 passes as a senior and he led the nation in Division III with 1,707 receiving yards and 19 receiving touchdowns. That type of performance put him on the radar of NFL scouts and as the NFL Draft has approached the buzz surrounding the 6'2", 205-pounder has just gotten louder and louder.

"It's definitely exciting," Bailey tells KYW Newsradio. "A lot of kids would die to be in my shoes and that's what makes me go harder. It's a childhood dream that I'm living right now. It's just an awesome, awesome feeling to get up to this point right now."

You don't put together numbers like Bailey did in college by accident and he breaks down what's allowed him to get to this point.

"My best skill set is catching the ball, running routes, getting open, being physical," Bailey says. "Also being consistent. Those are the things that make you a better player. Doing those things creates greatness."

A lot of teams have checked out Bailey as the draft has gotten closer, he was actually one of the several local standouts to work out for the Eagles recently. He is doing his best to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime ride.

"It's an exciting process," Bailey says. "It's all just a mystery to see what's going to happen. I'm just excited. I'm not expecting anything, I just want one phone call to an organization and I'm just going to give it all I've got."

The NFL Draft begins on April 30th.
