Harry Kalas World Series Ring Among Items Up For Auction

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Hunts Auctions will be holding the 2015 Philadelphia Phillies Memorabilia Live Auction on Thursday, April 16 at Citizens Bank Park. Among the items up for auction in the event is the 2008 World Series ring presented to legendary Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas.

The event will take place in the Diamond Club on Thursday and a preview was held during the team's homestand to open up the season.

A charitable aspect is attached to the Kalas ring. The family cosigned the ring to auction and a portion of the proceeds garnered by the ring will go to the Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Association.

Hunt Auctions has listed the pre-sale estimate for the ring between $50,000 and $75,000.

Pre-auction bidding online for the ring and other items in the auction will remain open until Wednesday night at 10 p.m. A preview of the items will be available on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the park.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. You can visit Hunt Auctions online to see all of the Phillies items that will be available at the auction.
