Thousands Gather For 12th Annual Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The beautiful spring day provided the perfect backdrop for the 12th Annual Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival on Sunday.

Thousands of people crowded Main Street and were hungry for some good food and some good weather.

"It's a gorgeous day and we thought, wait a minute, there's food, there's sun, there's walking around. There's three of us, we have nothing to do, let's do it," described one of the many people to attend the festival.

With more than 50 food trucks, the festival offered everything from perogies to P-B & J. 12-year-old Cole decided to try a slightly more daring version of the classic sandwich.

"I got a spicy, peanut butter and jelly and pulled pork taco," said Cole.

Mitch Shusman is the owner of PBandU and was feverishly serving up his various peanut butter based creations.

"When I first tried The Pickler, with the pickles. I figured if the pickles work well, anything will work well. I'll try anything once," said Shusman as he described one of his creations.
