Police: Man Charged With Murder After Woman's Body Discovered In Yard In Frankford
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a man has been charged with murder and abuse of a corpse after a female's body was found in a yard in Frankford last month.
Authorities say around 11:30 a.m. on March 24, officers were flagged down by a man who wanted to report a possible body in the rear yard of a residence on the 4700 block of Frankford Avenue.
Police say authorities responded to the scene and dug out a female's body wrapped in plastic bags.
The Medical Examiner's Office determined her cause of death to be multiple stab wounds to the head, neck and chest.
Officials identified the victim as 39-year-old Kelly Hepft and announced 30-year-old Jeffrey Bowen has been arrested for her murder.
Authorities say Bowen is charged with murder, robbery, theft, abuse of corpse and related offenses.
