Man Shot, Critically Wounded In West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for the gunman who shot and wounded a man overnight in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 12 a.m. Sunday in the 4900 block of Hoopes Street in the Mills Creek section of the city.

Police say a 46-year-old man was shot twice in the chest and head He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

Authorities are investigating the motive for the shooting.

There is no word on a suspect at this time.
