Pedestrian Killed When Struck By Amtrak Train In Delco

SHARON HILL, Pa. (AP) — An Amtrak spokesman says a person has been struck by a train and killed in southeast Pennsylvania.

Spokesman Marc Magliari says the person was trespassing when hit by the Amtrak train about 7 p.m. Saturday in Sharon Hill. The train was heading from New York City to Washington, D.C., and was delayed for about 2½ hours in Sharon Hill, where Amtrak doesn't normally stop.

Magliari says none among the crew or 318 passengers was injured. He referred other questions to the Delaware County coroner and Sharon Hill police.

The police said officers were still investigating and would not be immediately releasing any details. No one answered the office phone Saturday night for the coroner.
