Sixers Use Off Day To Tour The White House

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Tuesday was an off day for the Sixers ahead of their Wednesday match up with the Washington Wizards. The team headed down to our nation's capitol and decided to spend a little time together doing a little sight seeing.

The team toured the White House together on Tuesday and shared several posts on social media to chronicle their experience.

No pictures from the trip top those of Robert Covington. Here is just a sample of his pictures, the rest of which can be seen on his Instagram page:

The Sixers have talked a lot about the fact that they are hoping to build a winner for Philadelphia. One of the perks of winning a title would be to visit the White House and deliver a jersey to the President of the United States.

Although the team did not get a chance to sit down with Barack Obama, perhaps the trip served as a little motivation for the franchise that is looking to build something special.
