What do you anticipate happening in your field that will bring growth to your market in the next six months?

"Property values will rise allowing more people underwater on their mortgages to have positive equity so they can sell their home and purchase a new home. More millennials will find jobs allowing them to purchase homes."

When hiring for your company, what do you look for in an employee?

"We look for people with honesty and integrity. A strong work ethic is required to survive in real estate."

What advice would you give to someone entering into your field?

"Anyone entering the field of real estate should find the best mentor possible from whom to learn the business. In the early stages, agents must observe those who are successful in the business and observe their tactics and habits. They should then use this as a template for which to build their own style."

What changes have you observed in the past year as far as business growth and hiring practices are concerned?

"I've seen the need to become a "hybrid" agent. My business is diversified within different segments of the real estate industry. I build new homes, sell real estate in the traditional way, work with investors, and purchase rental properties. When one of the segments is slow there are always others ways to earn money. This is attractive to new hires in that they see there are many different avenues of earning a living other than just the traditional selling and listing. I teach them how to be a successful entrepreneur."
