Penn State Social Groups To Be Examined

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The president of Penn State University says a task force will examine aspects of fraternity and sorority life as police investigate photos of naked and semi-nude women posted on a Facebook page linked to a university fraternity.

University president Eric Barron announced Monday that the panel will define the purposes of fraternities and sororities, check their racial and ethnic diversity, look into sexual misconduct and alcohol abuse and see whether there is accountability for any misconduct.

The decision comes a week after a search warrant became public in a police investigation of a secret Facebook page tied to the Penn State chapter of Kappa Delta Rho. That fraternity has been suspended for a year and must reorganize for what a national fraternity official has called "the most serious misconduct."
