What's Cooking on 1060: Sky Brunch, Wine Week, and a Competition For Charity

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A new weekly brunch kicks off Sunday, March 29th, in center city.  Mickey Rowley, proprietor of Top of the Tower (on the 50th floor of the Bell Atlantic Tower, at 1717 Arch Street), says it's called "Sky Brunch."

"It's going to be a traditional brunch," he says, "but as the name makes pretty clear, the views are magnificent.  We're 683 feet in the air!"

The second annual "Philly Wine Week" takes place Sunday through Sunday, March 22nd through March 29th.

"Philly Wine Week is eight days each year, hopefully always around the end of March, where wine professionals, wine enthusiasts, and novices alike will be able to celebrate and explore wine," says cofounder Kate Maroney (below).

And "Dish It Up," an annual fundraiser for Women Against Abuse, takes place at the WHYY studios, 6th and Race Streets, on Thursday, March 26th.

"It's the only female chef competition in Philadelphia, and we have some of the greatest female chefs," says Women Against Abuse executive director Jeannine Lisitski (photo below).  "The chefs are competing for the Purple Dish award: they make food with the element of purple, which is the anti-domestic-violence color."
