5 Players To Watch In The NCAA Tourney

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The NCAA Tournament is college basketball's biggest stage and a chance for many young athletes to become household names.

Here are five names to keep an eye on, as the NCAA tournament begins.

5. Fred VanVleet (Junior G Wichita St)

Indiana State v Wichita State

VanVleet returns to the NCAA tournament with the Shockers after last season's third-round loss to Kentucky. The junior guard is Wichita State's engine. He controls the tempo and is a nightmare on both sides of the ball.

4. Delon Wright (Senior G Utah)

Wright, a 6'5" 190-pound senior can do it all. Averaging 14.9 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 5.3 APG, 1.0 BPG, 2.1 SPG, Wright is a stat-sheet stuffer. Maybe most impressively, Wright is shooting 52.9% from the field on the season.

3. Jerian Grant (Senior G Notre Dame)

Jerian is the brother of Sixers forward Jerami Grant. As a fourth-year senior and team leader, Grant does just that, leading the Irish in scoring (16.8 PPG) and assists (6.6 APG).

2. Frank Kaminsky (Senior F Wisconsin)

Wisconsin v Michigan State
CHICAGO, IL - MARCH 15: Frank Kaminsky #44 of the Wisconsin Badgers waves to the crowd after cutting the net after a win over the Michigan State Spartans during the Championship game of the 2015 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament at the United Center on March 15, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. Kaminsky is certainly the most charismatic player in the tournament. The 7'0" forward can do it all, yes, even knock down the three-ball. Besides averaging 18.2 PPG, 8.0 RPG, and 1.6 BPG, Kaminsky averages 1.0 3PFG made per game, shooting 39.5% from downtown.

1. Jahlil Okafor (Freshman F Duke)

Duke v North Carolina

Okafor, just 19-years-old, has some of the smoothest footwork you will ever see for a 6'11", 235-pound athlete. Okafor has been completely dominant in his first season a Duke (17.7 PPG, 9.0 RPG), a sure-fire NBA lottery pick.
