Report: Browns Offered First-Round Pick For Sam Bradford

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Sam Bradford has more value than we thought.

During his press conference on Wednesday, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly admitted he was offered a first-round pick for Sam Bradford. Two days later, Rams head coach said he was offered a late first-round pick for Bradford.

"There were some discussions, yes, but from our standpoint, the first-round pick — obviously, it's attractive, but you still don't have a quarterback," Fisher told Pro Football Talk Live. "It's a late pick and then would we move up and get into position to draft one? It didn't make sense to us."

Over the weekend, former NFL general manager Charley Casserly said that team was the Cleveland Browns.

"I'm looking at Cleveland," Casserly said. "The information I have is that they offered a one for Sam Bradford, ok, so clearly they're aggressive in trying to get a quarterback. They've got two one's. [They] can't be sold on what [they've] got. I think they'll be aggressive in the draft."

The Browns currently have Johnny Manziel on top of the depth chart after Brian Hoyer left for the Texans. As far as assets go, the Browns own two first-round picks in this year's draft---No. 12 and No. 19.

You see where I'm going?

If the Browns really do want Bradford and the Eagles really do want Marcus Mariota---if Mariota slips maybe Bradford, Philly's first-round pick this year (No. 20), and their first round pick next year gets the Eagles up eight slots.

Update: Tuesday, March 17th
