Man Dead, Woman Critical After Suspected Murder Suicide

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia man died and a woman was left injured following what Philadelphia Police are calling a suspected murder-suicide. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Sunday in a home on the 4500 block of Spruce Street.

According to authorities, the man and woman were neighbors. Police say the man and women had issues regarding noise being made inside the home which had been converted into apartments on separate floors.

Authorities say the woman was found shot multiple times in the first floor hallway, while the man was found on the second floor.

The man, who authorities say is in his forties, was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The woman, 46, was also transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition after authorities say she was shot eight times in multiple parts of her body.

Authorities say that a gun was recovered at the scene.
