Chip Kelly To Speak Tuesday Night At Katz JCC In Cherry Hill

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Chip Kelly is gonna speak. Did you hear that? I said, Chip Kelly gon' speak!

It's been exactly two months and one day since the Eagles have given Kelly full control of all personnel decisions, for the first time since then, Kelly will speak---but not to reporters. Instead, Kelly will speak at the most unorthodox of places (no pun intended)---the Katz Jewish Community Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Kelly will speak at the Katz JCC's 5th Annual Sports Award Dinner on Tuesday night, talking about the impact that sports has had on his life and sharing football stories. The dinner, presented by Friedman LLP, recognizes community leaders who serve as positive role models to people in South Jersey.

"We actually got him [Kelly] about six, seven weeks ago," said Jeff Brown, the Vice Chair of the dinner, Tuesday morning on the 94WIP Morning Show. "What happened was, we were able to secure him right after the combine. That was his one request, that he finished the combine. He said he would be happy to support the JCC.

"He's doing a speech that recognizes special needs," Brown said. "The money goes to special needs at the JCC."

After Kelly's speech however, there will be a short Q&A session.

"We're going to be handing out cards to all of the people in the audience and they're going to be writing questions down on their cards and then I will be collecting them and sifting through the cards to chose the questions," said Adam Levine of MHS, who will be asking Kelly the questions.

Previous keynote speakers include Donovan McNabb, Shane Victorino, Cole Hamels, Aly Raisman, and LeSean McCoy.

The dinner begins at 5:45 p.m. and is open to the public for $75. Proceeds provide provide financial assistance and services for children of all ages and abilities.
