Del. Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Children At Daycare He Owned

DOVER, Del. (CBS) – A Delaware man has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing children while he owned and operated a daycare back in the 1990s.

Police say an investigation began in January 2015 when two victims came forward to report they had been sexually abused by William Semanovick Jr., 67, of Dover, when they attended the Village Kids Daycare Center at 1460 John Clark Road back in the late 1990s.

One of the girls was reportedly four-years-old when she attended the daycare between Jan. 1996 and March 1997. During that time period, Semanovick is accused of sexually abusing her on at least three different occasions.

The second victim, who was six-years-old, reported having similar experiences with Semanovick when she attended the daycare between Nov. 1998 and Dec. 2000.

Village Kids Daycare is closed and records indicated it operated between 1995 and 2008. The two victims, who are now 22, contacted police after both confided in one another about the abuse.

Semanovick turned himself in to detectives on Friday, Feb. 20 and was charged with three counts of Unlawful Sexual Intercourse 1st, two counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact 2nd, and Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. He has since been released on $13,000 secured bond.
