Snow Causing Travel Problems All Throughout Region
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Our latest storm was no surprise, but that doesn't mean it isn't causing some problems on the roads, rails and at the airport.
First and foremost, if you don't have to go out there just don't. But if you are out on the roads, AAA recommends you keep at least 6 car lengths behind plow crews and salt trucks.
PennDOT spokesman John Brown asks anyone who is out on the roads to please take it easy:
"Be respectful of our drivers, be cautious and just slow down, give them room to work. They're there to serve you and plow your roadway, so just give them room."
Speed limits have been lowered to 25 mph on the Ben Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges.
SEPTA is reporting a number of delays and detours due to the weather and SEPTA's route 35 & route 139 buses are suspended. Passengers should go to septa.org and check the system status section of the website for details.
PATCO is on a normal schedule, but does have a travel advisory.
The FAA had issued a ground stop for flights headed to Philadelphia International Airport that ended around 10 p.m. Saturday, but arrival and departure delays remain.. More info is available at PHL.org or by calling 1-800-PHL-GATE.
