Dr. Paul Bonicelli On Obama: 'This Is A President Who Will Not Learn In Office, Who Will Not Admit Any Mistake'

By Dom Giordano

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Dom Giordano talked with Dr. Paul Bonicelli, the Vice President of Operations of Regent University and former Deputy assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance at USAID in the Bush Administration on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT about President Obama's conference designed to combat radical extremism.

Bonicelli believes the President is conflating the efforts being made to help struggling democracies and fighting terrorist safe-havens in a way President Bush never did.

"The goal there was when you have an Afghanistan or a Somalia, you have failed states, any effort we can engage in that brings them closer to democracy, closer to economic prosperity means they're more likely to be a state helping us fight against terrorists as opposed to being a home for them. That has nothing to do with the actual war against terrorists, which is go find them and exterminate them."

He criticized the President for not coming out and saying we are warring with Islam.

"The President's mindset, he doesn't say Islamic radicals, he wouldn't say Christians for a long time, he doesn't like to take religion seriously. He can't imagine anybody really does so he's looking for other issues and it's never to blame the aggressor for his actions. It's always to say what did society do to cause this problem?"

Bonicelli also stated President Obama is not open to adjusting his strategy as terror networks change tactics.

"This is a President who, remarkably will not learn in office, who will not admit any mistake. No need to back up change course. It's remarkable and I think that's why we're going to see another year and a half where he's never going to change his mind on it."
