Online Streaming Service Lists Top 'Sex' Songs Played During Valentine's Day Weekend

by social media editor Melony Roy

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CBS) -- Valentine's Day has come and gone, but love is still in the air as Spotify reveals a playlist of the Top 10 songs played on its network during Valentine's Day weekend.

Apparently hoping music would set the mood, Spotify users created nearly 2.5 million "sex" playlists over the weekend.   The music streaming service searched playlists with the word "sex" in the title and picked out the tracks that appeared the most for their "Top Ten Sex Songs" list.

Hozier's "From Eden," Coldplay's "Magic," and Disclosure's "You & Me" made the list.

In contrast, "love" playlists are significantly more common: there are 28 million of them. Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, and Justin Timberlake all placed in the top ten on that list.

And Spotify notes that men were somewhat more likely to create "sex" playlists, with males making 56 percent of them and females making 44 percent of them.
