$1 Million Bail For Suspect In SEPTA Station Assault
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Bail has been set at $1 million for a 26-year-old serial offender charged in an attempted rape at a busy Philadelphia transit hub.
Reginald Green was arraigned Wednesday on charges of attempted rape, aggravated indecent assault and robbery in the attack Monday afternoon at SEPTA's Jefferson Station.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 26.
Green's been arrested 11 times before and served jail terms for indecent exposure and simple assault. He completed a three-day sentence Feb. 6 for a contempt of court charge.
Police say the 27-year-old victim met Green about a half-hour before the attack, asked him for directions and walked with him to the station.
They say Green escorted the victim down to the track area and attacked her in a secluded maintenance access way.
