Expect A Quiet, Gray Day

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The light freezing rain is done, and temperatures are slowly rising above freezing. Today will be a much quieter day. Some untreated roadways may still be slick, but a nice breeze is helping to dry most surfaces.

Clouds will eventually give way to a few peeks of sunshine later in the day, but expect a generally gray day. Highs are expected to approach 40 degrees around Philadelphia.

Sunshine will take back the sky in full on Wednesday, but will then again give way to clouds by nightfall. Another clipper will move in, bringing with it snow showers for Thursday. They will be light with very little accumulation expected.

Friday will be a frigid day, with temperatures barely reaching into the 20s. Another clipper looms for Valentine's Day as well. Once that exits, Sunday will have the potential to be the coldest day we've seen in over a year!
