The Auto Show Is Here And It Really Is A Tool For Consumers

By Robin Culverwell

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia's Auto Show is here and turns out it's not just gearheads who attend it, shoppers do too.

Pedestrian traffic is bumper to bumper for Philadelphia's Auto Show. All those attendees translate into big bucks at area dealerships.

Kevin Mazzucola is Executive Director of Auto Dealers Association of the Greater Philadelphia Area. He says, "It's a blue collar show in the sense that people really use this show to find their next vehicle. About 40 percent of people who come to the show buy a car in the next 12 months."

And that, he says, adds up to about $2.5 billion in sales influenced by the Auto Show.

Besides the reality of car shopping, there are exotics and classics, something for just about everyone to look at.
