Report: Philadelphia In The Top 10 Cities For Property Crimes

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Here in Philadelphia, we have great restaurants, great shopping and plenty of opportunities – among other things.

But the city also ranks pretty high when it comes to property crime.

According to a new roundup from BadCredit.com, Philadelphia ranks seventh in the country when it comes to property crime.

"Neither the weather nor its citizens' dispositions are always sunny in Philadelphia," BadCredit.com writes. "The city is home to several hundred homicides a year, a large concentration of organized crime rings and some of professional sports' rowdiest fans."

Here's some of the other data on Philly that's provided:

Robberies: 7,562

Property Crimes: 53,452

Larcenies: 37,253

Motor Vehicle Thefts: 5,791

Arsons: Not available

BadCredit.com says it analyzed FBI data from 2013 gathered as part of the Uniform Crime Reporting Program, which shows which cities have the highest rates of reported violent and property crimes.

So, which city took the top spot on the list? The Big Apple. Houston came in second, and Chicago ranked third.
