NJ Travel Ban and Phila Snow Emergency Lifted, Mass Transit In Areas Still Affected
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The storm forecasted to hit the northeast spared much of Eastern Pennsylvania, continuing north through New York and Massachusetts.
Mass transit, schools, and government continue to be affected in our area.
At 6am on Tuesday, the Snow Emergency in Philadelphia was lifted. Normal parking can resume on Snow Emergency Routes.
Late Tuesday morning, the Philadelphia Emergency Operation Center, which monitored the impacts of the snow storm and coordinated the City's response activities, was deactivated.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced on Twitter that the travel ban for south of Interstate 195 in that state is lifted as of 7am. Effective at 7:30am, the travel ban was lifted for all 21 counties in New Jersey.
Drivers in New Jersey were also encouraged to continue to stay off the roads whenever possible throughout the day as crews continue to clear the snow.
All Philadelphia Public and Archdiocesan schools are closed on Tuesday.

SEPTA: Many of the preemptive bus detours are being lifted. There had been about 50 bus routes affected -- these routes that tend to be historically affected by heavy snow. Currently, only 7 bus routes are still on detour.
Regional Rail trains are operating on a weekend schedule. The Cynwyd Line is not operating.
The Norristown High Speed Line is running on a normal weekday schedule.

New Jersey Transit: NJT had suspended its service systemwide Tuesday. Some services slowly resumed operations throughout the morning.
The South Jersey Bus is operating with modified service, and the North Jersey Bus will be operating by 11am.
NJ Transit, through Governor Christie's office, reports that the Newark and River Line light rails have resumed operating. The Hudson Bergen light rail will resume by 11am.
NJ Transit's rail operations will resume with limited service by Tuesday afternoon. NJ Transit reports that line by line announcements will be made as mandatory federal inspections are completed.

US Airways/American Airlines - operating only a handful of arrivals later today and a departure to Tel Aviv tonight
Delta Air Lines - operating most flights
Southwest Airlines - planning to resume a full schedule this afternoon
United Airlines - operating one arrival this evening
Spirit Airlines - operating regular schedule today
Air Canada - operating one arrival and one departure this evening
British Airways - operating one flight to London this evening
Jet Blue - all flights canceled today into and out of PHL
Frontier Airlines - all flights canceled today into and out of PHL
Qatar Airways - flights canceled today into and out of PHL
