Learn Everything About Butterflies

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Let's think about spring and summer and pretty things like butterflies, shall we? Such as 'Everything You Didn't Know About Butterflies', the topic of an upcoming talk, which is probably a lot…like, did you know that butterflies don't see or smell or breathe the way we do at all? Or that they taste things with their feet?

Well, you can come find out all that and more on Tuesday evening, February 3 at Delaware Valley College, when Rick Mikula - "The Butterfly Guy" - will entertainingly explain what amazing creatures butterflies are, give you a glimpse into their mysterious world, and show you how you can help them along their journey.

An award-winning author who's been raising butterflies for over 30 years, he's also a consultant on creating butterfly habitats for museums and zoos, as well as President of Butterfly Rescue International.

This talk costs just $5.00, but it's free for DVC students, active military and members of the Henry Schmieder Arboretum, and only $3.00 for seniors, non-DVC students and DVC faculty/staff.

Again, it's at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, February 3rd at the Life Science Building Auditorium on the campus of Delaware Valley College.
