Car Crash Brings Down Utility Pole In Delaware County

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. (CBS) -- A car lost control and slammed into a utility pole in Delaware County early Tuesday morning.

The accident happened shortly after 3 p.m. in the 100 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue in Newtown Square.

According to investigators, the driver somehow lost control and crashed into a utility pole. The impact brought down some wires and the car temporarily caught on fire. Firefighters arrived at the scene and put the fire out quickly.

As a result of the pole coming down, there were some scattered power outages in the area.

The driver was injured in the crash, but the extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

The crash remains under investigation.
