Top 5 Sports "Gate's" Over Last Decade

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- When there's a scandal, these days, there's a "gate."

Inspired by the recent "Deflategate" scandal, we took a look back at some of the other memorable "gate's" over the last decade in sports.

 

5. Tipgate - 2014

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy left only a 20-cent tip at PYT restaurant in Philadelphia.

4. Bountygate 2009-2011

The New Orleans Saints bounty scandal in which members of the Saints were accused of paying bonuses for injuring opponents. Saints coach Sean Payton was suspended for the entire 2012 season.

3. Spygate - 2007

The New England Patriots were disciplined by the NFL for videotaping the New York Jets' coaches signals during a game in 2007. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was fined $500,000, the maximum allowed by the league and the largest fine ever. The Patriots were fined $250,000 and lost their first-round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft.

2. Tigergate - 2009

Tiger Woods was releases statement admitting to infidelity. He apologized and announced his indefinite leave from golf.

1. Deflategate - 2015

The New England Patriots were accused of deflating balls before their AFC Championship game. Sources say 11 to 12 balls were indeed under-inflated.
