Report: Eagles Will 'Try' To Move Up For Mariota

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- According to Mark Eckel of NJ.com, sources says the Eagles are "going to try" to move up in the NFL draft, in hopes of acquiring the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Marcus Mariota.

"From No. 20, it's certainly not going to be easy,'' the NJ.com article says. "It's probably going to take moving up twice to do it. There's going to be some wheeling and dealing involved.

"Can it happen? I don't know. But they're going to try.''

The Eagles have pick No. 20 in the NFL draft. Mariota is projected to be a top-five pick and could go as high as first overall.

"I spoke to an executive in personnel for another team---this was awhile ago, I wrote this awhile ago," Eckel said Wednesday on the 94WIP Morning Show. "I said just pretend you have a top pick and you don't need a quarterback and I'm the Eagles and I call you and I say, 'Alright listen I want to move up. What would it take?'

Listen to Mark Eckel on the 94WIP Morning Show:

"So he said, 'I want your one and two this year, your one next year, and [LeSean] McCoy.'"
